Profile Synopsis

I graduated from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 Bachelor of Science degree and joined Oracle as a technical consultant DBA. I rapidly gained commercial experience in consulting and rapidly developed my knowledge of Oracle applications, including being the lead DBA for three different projects.

I moved to London after Oracle, and my first role involved leading the success migration from Oracle 9i to 10g (database and application server) and implementing Dataguard into a RAC environment with ASM on two different major projects, the go-lives being within a fortnight of each other. The latter of the two was executed from start to finish within a six week period. I have also increased my hardware knowledge, as well as general Linux/Unix administration skills. I have challenged myself to increase my knowledge of RMAN, ASM, and Dataguard.

My current role with Linedata UK Ltd is further developing my skills as a production DBA working on ASP environments in the finance sector. I am eagerly working towards becoming a well-rounded DBA, to be able to resolve any support issues from the ground up, including gaining experience in shell and Perl scripting to further aid system monitoring.
