Kerri has been an Oracle DBA since she joined Oracle UK Consulting in August 2008, after gaining a 2:1 in Internet Communication Systems at Bournemouth University. During her employment with Oracle she mainly worked as an Applications DBA using products such as APEX, E-Business Suite, Web Logic, OEM, Grid Control, Essbase, Application Server, and BIEE. She undertook the role of lead DBA on several occasions, gaining praise for her excellent customer service skills.

Due to an internal company reorganisation and following severe illness, Kerri was made redundant in June 2010 from Oracle. However, walked straight into a role with Oasis Medical Solutions as a technical DBA. She threw herself into learning Oracle RAC using ASM and Dataguard, along with studying in her personal time to gain as much knowledge as possible. Her employment with Oracle has given her a good grounding towards her future career, particularly in her ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.

In January 2011 Kerri progressed her career into the financial market and is currently working for Linedata Ltd UK as a technical consultant production DBA. Her roles currently include, but are not limited to: the implementation of new ASP environments; installing and researching 11g architecture; perl scripting; shell scripting; nagios configuration and maintenance; Linux administration; Oracle database administration.

Kerri is aiming to start a Masters in Software Development in May 2012 and in her spare time is undertaking a personal project to create an online marketplace to develop her HTML5 and CSS3 skills as well as maintain her web development skills from university.

This blog is a collection of daily scripts, code snippets, errors and resolutions encountered by Kerri. Kerri uses this as an online reference manual and aims to add something new everyday that she learns in the course of her career. She hopes that this will in turn assist others.
